As CEO and Founder of PHOS MEDICAL, Stavros Bourmas is widely recognized as the “LaserMan” across medical and veterinary sectors. Having over two decades of experience in the Photobiomodulation Sports Therapy industry, Stavros is hailed as a pioneering expert, credited with numerous techniques featured in Laser Therapy literature. He’s the architect behind many protocols integrated into today’s equine laser systems. His expertise in various units and protocols was honed through treating elite athletes, especially Thoroughbred and Standardbred Racehorses.

Early in his career, Stavros concurrently treated both human and equine athletes for high-stakes competitions, from graded stakes races to NBA and NFL playoffs. He regularly prepared college athletes for the NFL Combine, Tommie Harris and the Chicago Bears for the NFL playoffs, and Chicago Bulls players for the NBA playoffs. This dual focus allowed him to develop adaptable protocols benefiting athletes across species.

His methodologies for equine rehabilitation, pre-performance conditioning, and post-performance therapy yielded tangible results while safeguarding their well-being, culminating in numerous prestigious victories and accolades. Stavros has worked with Hall of Fame trainers such as Ron McAnally, Jack Van Berg, and Jerry Hollendorfer. As the exclusive therapist for Hollendorfer racing, he maintained 100 plus elite racehorses, including champions Shared Belief, Songbird, Blind Luck, Dakota Phone, Unique Bella, Kentuckian, Sweet Lulu, and Blueskiesnrainbows.

Having administered over 26,000 treatments in under a decade, Stavros recognized the critical need for reliable, convenient, state-of-the-art laser technology that can adapt to demanding environments. Thus, the vision for PHOS MEDICAL was born, aiming to redefine the portable laser industry by introducing the PHENOM LASER.
